In addition to being Western Canada’s largest winter festival, Festival du Voyageur is also “The World’s Largest Kitchen Party”!
This unique ten-day festival celebrates the joie de vivre of Voyageurs from the fur trade era. It also showcases French-Canadian culture, traditional cuisine, a host of musical entertainment, and jigging and fiddling contests. With its magnificent snow sculptures, Festival du Voyageur also celebrates winter fun with lots of outdoor activities for the entire family.
The great winter gathering is held every February in St. Boniface, the heart of Winnipeg’s French quarter!

Be part of the national movement to celebrate arts and culture! Culture Days showcases concurrent events in several locations across Canada. In Manitoba, free, hands-on, and interactive activities invite the public to engage with artists in the community.

“The Economic Development Council of Manitoba Bilingual Municipalities (CDEM), in close collaboration with Cinémental and the Alliance française du Manitoba, are presenting for a third consecutive year and despite the pandemic, the 2021 edition of Cinéma sous les étoiles. Movies under the stars offers the public free outdoor screenings of French-language films, with English subtitles. This cultural activity, which will take place from June 10 to September 9, could not take place without the invaluable help of essential partners: Saint-Boniface Cathedral, the Société de la Francophonie Manitobaine, Québec Cinéma, the Institut français, Radio Canada, La Liberté et Envol 91 FM and the financial support of Canadian Heritage. ” – CDEM

In 2020, Tourisme Riel and its partners offered you a virtual Canada Day that includes a tour of the attractions of Saint-Boniface, good music from local artists, and a neighborhood tour with Barney Morin.
